HACCP Compliance for Oakchurch Farm Shop & Garden Centre
Client Overview
Oakchurch Farm Shop & Garden Centre, a beloved local business since the 1970s, has built its reputation on a commitment to local and homemade produce.
To maintain its high standards and support growth, the business needed to update its food production processes and ensure full HACCP compliance.
The Challenge
As Oakchurch sought to expand its in-house food range, it faced the critical challenge of adapting its existing Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) procedures. The business needed a robust, compliant framework to manage food safety risks effectively without disrupting its established production workflows.
Our Solution
John Ishmael, Consultant, led a comprehensive review and update of Oakchurch’s food safety processes.
- Initial Consultation & Site Visit: An on-site meeting with the owner and catering team to understand the business, review current processes, and define the scope of the new requirements.
- Hazard Analysis: A thorough assessment to identify potential hazards associated with the new food production methods.
- Production of a revised HACCP procedure covering all processes, monitoring requirements, and clear documentation.
- Collaborative Refinement: Close collaboration with the catering production team to refine the new procedures, ensuring they were practical and effective in a live setting.
- Team Training: Delivery of training sessions to the catering team. An editable copy of the procedure was provided to the client, enabling them to make future amendments as their processes evolve.
The Outcome
By implementing the revised HACCP procedure, Oakchurch Farm Shop & Garden Centre was able to expand its in-house food range with confidence. The new framework ensured that all necessary legislative checks were in place and being implemented, providing a solid foundation for safe and sustainable growth.
